It is important to receive these therapies from someone who is licensed and qualified to offer them.

When you see a specialist in this area, the first thing that will happen is an in-depth evaluation. Your practitioner will conduct an in-depth interview with you regarding your symptoms and goals. They will also do a bodily examination. After you have been thoroughly evaluated, the practitioner will devise a treatment program that will combine acupuncture and herbs to best address your issues. The strategic placement of needles is the basis of acupuncture and is used to treat hundreds of issues. Common uses for acupuncture include weight loss, detoxification, pain relief and the breaking of addictions.

After your acupuncture session your practitioner may provide you with an herbal treatment plan. He or she may actually provide you with tea, tincture, capsules or fresh herbs to use.
